Interesting English facts

   -“Alphabet” originated from the first two letters of the Greek language – alpha and beta.

-The oldest word in English that is currently in use is “town”.

-A “pangram” is a sentence that has all the 26 alphabets. An example would be: “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.”

-Palindromes are words that spell the same even after reversing the word. Examples: “Malayalam” and “Madam.”

-The dot above “i” and “j” is known as a Tittle or a superscript dot.
